Jolly Grant Airport (DED), Dehradun is your departure point for the Char Dham Yatra by helicopter. Dehradun is approximately 1,300+ km from Mumbai — and with a direct 2-hour flight and 56 daily departures, it’s one of the most effortlessly connected routes in this entire series.
By Direct Non-Stop Flight — 2 hrs (Strongly Recommended)
A direct non-stop flight from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), Mumbai to Jolly Grant Airport (DED), Dehradun takes approximately 2 hours — the fastest way to reach Dehradun from Mumbai. A total of 56 flights operate daily on this route — 36 by Air India and 19 by IndiGo. Fares from ₹5,365. Board in Mumbai after an early breakfast and land in Dehradun before noon — fully rested and ready for the yatra.
Tip: The first flight departs as early as 02:05 AM and the last at 23:55 PM — giving complete flexibility to plan your departure around your schedule. Book 3–4 weeks ahead during Char Dham season (May–June) to secure the best fares.
Via Delhi — Connecting Flight — 4 hrs
Flying via Delhi takes approximately 4 hours 10 minutes, with fares from ₹5,288 — often cheaper than the non-stop. A solid alternative with multiple daily departures if direct seats are unavailable during peak season.
By Train — 26 hrs (Budget Option)
The Mumbai Bandra Terminus Dehradun Express (Train No. 19019) is one of the most preferred trains on this route. The journey takes approximately 26 hours 27 minutes, connecting via Saharanpur and Haridwar — passing through the holy city before arriving at Dehradun station. Fares from ₹770. A relaxed, budget-friendly option — board overnight and wake up in the Himalayan foothills.

Prepaid taxis from Jolly Grant Airport to Dehradun city centre cost ₹800–1,200 and take approximately 45 minutes. Ola/Uber available at both the airport and Dehradun railway station.

Dehradun is our main base for the Helicopter tours. It is the starting & ending point for Chardham Yatra By Helicopter)
This is the reporting day at Dehradun, which is our main base (starting & ending point).
Our representatives will pick you up from Dehradun Airport / Railway station and transfer you to your hotel for complimentary night stay in Dehradun. Airport to Dehradun hotel will be an approx. 01 hour journey by road.
Note: Arrival details must be provided to LIH prior to one week of your arrival so we can arrange a smooth pick-up.
Passengers should try to reach Dehradun by 04:00 pm, or earlier so that they are completely ready to start their Chardham journey the next day early morning.
In the evening ~7:00 pm to 9:00 PM, our team will be doing the tour briefing to the passengers for precautions they need to take during the tour & provide them with duffel bags for carrying only necessary things on the trip – Up to 2kgs to 5kgs / per person will be permitted to carry in duffel bags. Guests are required to shift only their necessary luggage in the duffel bags provided to them.

Transfer: Dehradun (Sahastradhara Helipad) ➝ Yamunotri (Kharsali Helipad) Kharsali is quite little village has two sacred ancient temples which you can visit: Shani temple & Yamuna Mata temple (Winter seat of goddess Yamuna).
The blessed Chardham Yatra will begin in the morning from the Dehradun helipad by flying to Kharsali helipad (Yamunotri Dham). Passengers will check out in the morning from the hotel and they will be picked up from the Hotel by our crew and taken to Sahastradhara Helipad.
Our ground staff would welcome the passengers. The staff will then get the passengers settled in the waiting lounge, where the Pre-Flight briefing will be given. The passengers will then be boarded in the helicopter. After landing at Kharsali, passengers will be checked-in to hotel and then they will be taken for Yamunotri Darshan. Yamunotri trek is 06 km stretch one-way which will be covered by Pony or Palki whichever is available.
Sightseeing at Kharsali: Hot Spring at Yamunotri Temple, Yamuna Mata Temple, Shani Temple. *Subject to availability & Operational!

Transfer: Yamunotri (Kharsali Helipad) ➝ Gangotri (Harsil Helipad)
This day the Group will be flying from Kharsali Helipad to Harsil Helipad. In the morning passengers will check out from the hotel and departs from Kharsali to Harsil.
Harsil – The second dham of yatra, also known for the extensive apple orchards there, is the most scenic and beautiful destination. Passengers will be taken for Gangotri Dham Darshan after breakfast or lunch, depending upon the rush at the temple. The road distance to Gangotri temple is approx. 20 km, which is roughly a 45-minute drive.
Sightseeing at Harsil: Harsil has many places & nature walks around to explore.

Transfer: Gangotri (Harsil Helipad) ➝ Kedarnath (Guptkashi / Sersi / Phata Helipad)
In the morning, we will drive to Harsil Helipad. On arrival, fly to Guptkashi / Sersi Helipad then again fly to Kedarnath from the same Helipad. Kedarnath Temple is approx. 500 meters away from helipad and will take approx. 15 mins to reach.
Kedarnath has three helipads – Sersi / Guptkashi / Phata and from any of these helipad shuttle services for Kedarnath Ji Shrine will operate. Passengers will be ferried to Kedarnath Dham for darshan in a shuttle services flight, after their breakfast.
The shuttle services flight from Guptkashi / Sersi / Phata to Kedarnath is approx. 07 minutes long.

Transfer: Kedarnath (Guptkashi/ Sersi/ Phata Helipad) ➝ Badrinath Helipad
Passengers will have breakfast in the morning & be ready for their flight to Badrinath from Guptkashi / Sersi.
Passengers will be taken for darshan to Badrinath temple in the afternoon after lunch.
Passengers will be taken from the Hotel to the temple by car.
Sightseeing at Badrinath: Mana Village – Known as the ‘Last village of India’, due to its proximity to the China border.*Subject to availability & Operational!
Transfer: Badrinath Helipad ➝ Dehradun (Sahastradhara Helipad)
After breakfast, while we are heading back to Dehradun, see the beautiful overview of the Region, especially the picturesque view of the valley, which is an eye-candy for nature lovers.
On arrival at Dehradun Sahastradhara Helipad, our team will be present to receive the passengers. Later, they will be dropped at the Dehradun Hotel to collect the luggage from cloakrooms and we bid farewell to the passengers.

The closest railway stations are Haridwar and Dehradun, which have four direct trains from Mumbai each week. Guidelines for Char Dham Yatra Helicopter Traveler
Helicopter Weight Limitation
According to the aviation department, only 6 people can sit in a helicopter, and the maximum weight of each passenger should be 72 kg; your weight will be measured before the take-off, and if we find more than the standard weight, you can be prevented from boarding the helicopter, in that case, you can contact us and get advice.Also, the maximum capacity of a helicopter is 430 kg, which does not include passenger baggage, and a passenger can carry only 5 kg maximum weight with him.
Disclaimer for Bad Weather
Any type of flying is challenging in mountainous areas, sometimes in case of bad weather, busy air traffic, and passenger illness, the helicopter may be delayed or other unforeseen events may also occur, so passengers should be prepared for any such situation. Although adequate safety gear is provided by the crew, the passengers will have to keep their preparations complete.
Our Payment Policy
For all the services contracted, a certain advance payment should be made to hold the booking on a confirmed basis & the balance amount can be paid before your departure from your country or after your arrival to India as mutually decided between team management and guests. Management personnel hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as advance payment based on the nature of the service & the time left for the commencement of the service. Apart from the above, in some cases, like Special Train Journeys, hotels or resort bookings during the peak season (X-Mas, New Year), full payment is required to be sent in advance (as specified in your tour proposal).Mode of Payment for FIT (Frequent Individual Travelers):
Package Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reasons, we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges will be as follows:
In case of special train journeys and peak season hotel bookings, a separate cancellation policy is applicable (which can be advised as and when required). For flight ticket cancellation, an airline cancellation policy will be applicable.
**Important Note: – If flying is unable to take place for two consecutive days due to bad weather conditions, the Yatra will be called off. In such cases, a 75% refund, minus a 25% management fee as per our policies, will be issued to the passengers.
